IKA-ROTOTRON jet flow agitators are the link between high frequency rotor-stator dispersing machines (ULTRA-TURRAX) and classical, or conventional stirring machines (IKA-TURBOTRON). The occurrence of vortexes is avoided through the use of guide plates at the stator, so that undesired introduction of air to the medium is avoided at the corresponding immersion depth.

Two types of seals are available for the shaft with ball bearings depending upon the application, and are also interchangeable. KT sealing cartridges for use at atmospheric pressure consisting of 4 special shaft seal rings of PTFE compound, and o-ring of viton or FTS. Temperature range: 40°C to 160°C. KD sealing cartridges for use with pressure upto max. 580 p.s.i. (40 bar), or vacuum, consisting of single mechanical seal lubricated and cooled by the medium to be stirred. Materials combination for the seal is adapted to the application requirements. Easy cleaning is assured, because no medium can force its way between the drive shaft and the stationary shaft tube. All parts which come into contact with the medium are made of ss 316 Ti chromium-nickel steel. For the KT series the flange is made either of a high quality aluminum alloy (Unifont 90) or gray cast iron with a chemical resistant coating. For the KD series the facing flange is also made of ss 316 Ti chromium-nickel steel, and is in accordance with PN 16 DIN 2527.
