The liquid enters the central channel by means of centrifugal pump and flows over the filter media uniformly under the force of the circulating pump. The liquid gets filtered through the filter media and clear filtrate goes out in the filter tank. To provide large filtration area, the filter is having number of disks and flow is distributed on all the filter discs. Different types of filter aids are available to enhance the performance of the filtration. Preparing solution of filter-aid and circulating the same over the filter media to build up a filter-aid coating can carry out pre-coating of filter-aid. In Standard Conventional Sparkler type filter, as high as 10 to 15 % of the filter volume of unfiltered solution remains in the filter. This unique ZERO-HOLDUP filter design will have only negligible amount of unfiltered solution in the filter.
